After being with one man for 25 years, 18 of them united in wedded bliss, I am now divorced. Went to court to make it official on the last day of 2017. This new single life has me spellbound, bemused, and delighted much of the time, but sometimes discouraged and even terrified, because, as it turns out, things are really different now.

I want to write about my own life, but obviously, it was entwined with someone else’s life, and that someone else is still out there being a person in the world. He’s not a villain and I don’t intend to make him into one. If you are someone who knows him, I don’t want to color your opinion. To quote a wise woman I know, people are all adult enough to know that relationships are nuanced and that one of us was probably right and 93% of the time that was me and my story is the only one I can tell, but not the only one there is.
